Donate

Everything we are able to do in Haiti is because of the generosity of our donors. Our donations come from individuals, churches, schools, and other non-profits that want to support our work.

For $50 US we can produce, deliver and install a filter for a Haitian family including wages and user education and follow-up. And because we are supplying jobs in a country where employment is limited your donation is actually helping people twice. Over the years we have seen our employees buy land, build better homes, send their children to school and take job training classes that have given them new skills.

  1. I’m so glad to see this here now but do have a question.

If sending a donation as a memorium or similar, exactly how can that be done so the family can be notified (my preference in this would always be email to save expenses and never the amount being disclosed)?

    1. Margaret, sorry about the delay in answering. I’ve been mulling this over because it’s something we’ve been talking about at a board level but haven’t set a specific action plan on. I think the easiest way to handle it is that when you send a donation include a note with the request and all the necessary info for us to contact the recipient, and we can do that as you wish. Until our Canadian registration finalizes it would be best to give the donation to Anne, with the cheque made out to Higher Purpose as stated on the website, and she can do the admin part and forward the donation on. As you know she takes care of all our donor follow up and newsletter mailings, so getting it to her first means she can take care of it rather than waiting for HPM to notify us (they’ve been rather slow in this dept.).
