What’s Giving Tuesday?
Well, there’s Black Friday, where Americans kick off the Christmas season of shopping. Deals, deals, deals! Cyber Monday started a few years ago with the online shopping movement, encouraging online retailers to take advantage of the inter-web and get deals going online to encourage people to spend more money.
Enter Giving Tuesday.
Giving Tuesday started last year as a direct response to the post Thanksgiving shopping spree. It was started as an attempt to help people refocus, and to encourage them to give back. To stop, and think about doing more than consuming during the holiday season. The great thing is that it’s not just for Americans. Non-profits from all over the world are getting on board daily to participate in Giving Tuesday.
This is a movement. Check out the GivingTuesday website to see what I’m talking about.
Giving Tuesday is coming!
This year Clean Water for Haiti is participating in Giving Tuesday. Our goal is to raise $5000 in one day that will build 100 bio-sand filters. 100 filters can provide 100 Haitian households with access to clean water. That translates to about 1000 people getting access to clean water in their homes daily.
That’s a big impact from ONE DAY.
If we all band together and talk about it, share it, and DONATE, we CAN do it!
Look for more information coming soon about how you can participate in Giving Tuesday and help Clean Water for Haiti make an even bigger impact.
